Kesha

I will be the first to admit, I’m a spoiled brat when it comes to buying concerts tickets. I’m almost positive I have said that exact statement in a previous blog post. Kesha was the first show I bought a ticket for in probably two years. The last show I can recall was Shania Twain at the Bridgestone. The time before that, I really don’t remember.

When Kesha played at The Ryman this past Wednesday, I can truthfully say I was very overwhelmed with happiness to pay for a ticket for Kesha. As someone that works in live music and supporting artists, I was honored.

Here are some of the reasons why you should go see Kesha in concert:

She represents a good cause: On top of everything she has been through this year, she is a big supporter of the LGBTQ community. I think when you have that much power, you should use your voice for those who can’t.

This last album is amazing: I can’t believe I am saying this, I’m crazy about this album. It was deep and has meaning, unlike much of her music in the past. She has crazy songwriting talent. #GoGirl

Her live show is actually so good: Going into a pop show, I guess you never really know what to expect. I honestly went into it hoping for the best. I was not disappointed. Her live band is amazing and the energy of the crowd was overwhelming.

I know I have talked about pop artists before (mostly negative). But we are starting to see this trend of all these pop artists actually coming out with what they are really made of. Actual talent and soul. It’s a great time for pop music, and I am excited to see where it goes!
