Only Exception

I’m really slacking on my website here!

Also, I’m all about improving myself, so if you have tips on making my site/blog better, I’m all about it!

Well besides being consistent, I know I need to get my act together on that!
As I continue to browse the internet and look up things I don’t need to buy, I can’t help but think about how selfish I am with my career.

Let me explain:
I’ve come a long way from where I started when I was 22 years old. I’m still growing and learning as I always talk about. But what I haven’t talked about is all the sacrifices I’ve had to make to get to where I am.

My aunt died last week and if there is a funeral I’m pretty sure I won’t make it because I’ll be on tour. I’ve missed several family events, due to the fact that I’m 8/10 hours away or because I was off in my own little universe or sleeping on a bus. My friends that I hold near and dear to my heart, you know who you are. I’ve missed so many little moments with you and I’m so sorry. And to the love of my life, if there is one. I’m sorry to my knight and shining armor. I haven’t spent nearly as much time as I should trying to write my fairy tale ending. I hope you are still out there, my prince charming.

I don’t regret anything. I don’t. This is how my life panned out. But going forward, I’m going to focus on those I love.

“Ex’s and Oh’s”… No She Didn’t!

I think I finally got it together, and I’ll bring this blog back to what it is suppose to be. A music blog.

I want this blog, to be another outlet so readers can gain more insight on  festival experiences, good music to listen to and overall just plain, damn good music.

At least, that’s what I hope it to be. But don’t worry, I’ll still cry me a river once in a while on here…

As I drove on my way up to Milwaukee, I was listening, on blast Elle King. Why? Because she’s a badass chick who has blues rock influenced in her music. Don’t get me wrong, I love her single “Ex’s and Oh’s”, but the rest of her album is not like that. At all.

Also, just like every other musician, she struggled in Nashville to fit in, and just like everyone else, she worked really damn hard to get to where she wants to be.

Her music isn’t just good, she’s just really awesome!

Most of the time, I’m 100% behind the Grammys. I think it’s a great award for any producer, songwriter, musician, artist to receive.

This year, I thought was kind of a let down. In more ways than one.

I think the best way to put it, it wasn’t exciting. It was pretty predictable but I just thought it wasn’t memorable. Maybe I am being harsh, I’m not trying to be. I also think, there should have been other artists in nominated in certain categories, but again, who am I to judge. I’m just a blogger from Wisconsin.

Bob Lefsetz has the best music blog, I’ve ever read. This past blog, he wrote about the Grammys and the best thing he said was,

I don’t know where to go from here. Kill the Walking Dead”.

Let’s be honest, I’ve saw more people post about Walking Dead on Facebook then about the Grammys. Twitter was all about the Grammys, but I think everyone was ready for Kayne to do something drastic this year. But seriously, if the Grammys are competing against the Walking Dead, I think more people would rather watch zombies.

My point: I really hope that the people that receive their Grammys really do earn it. Because at the end of the day, it’s an achievement that many people will never get the chance to have.
